Mission Statement

Lafayette Lutheran School is a mission of the First Lutheran Church.

“Believing that the provision of a nurturing Christian environment is important in the early development of children, Lafayette Lutheran School is committed not only to academic excellence but also to the spiritual, mental, physical, and social development of children in such an environment. ”

Philosophy

LLS is dedicated to the mission of the church and to the importance of providing the best possible education for every child. We believe in an education that reflects a Christian view of the world. We believe that a school that teaches children Christian values and attitudes along with providing superior educational opportunities is what is needed for our children. We believe that this is possible with the full cooperation of the members of the congregation, the school staff, the church staff, the parents, and the children. Therefore, our efforts will be directed toward maintaining the dignity and uniqueness of the children in helping them develop knowledge and Christian understanding necessary for them to become responsible, competent, contributing members of the school and community.

LLS is focused on the following goals:

  • Teach the students about their Christian heritage.
