Head of School

Principal Ursula Hudson

Ursula Hudson began teaching in 1993. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Nicholls State University and a Master's +30 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Ursula is certified in elementary education, gifted education, and administration. She has taught grades second through sixth during her thirteen years of experience. The majority of her teaching career was spent in the Lafayette Parish Gifted Program. During the 08/09 school year, she taught 4th grade at LLS. Last year she served as the LLS Principal and the 4th-6th grade Language Arts Teacher.

Prior to joining the LLS faculty, Ursula served on the LLS PTO Board for two years. She and her husband Curtis share two daughters, Olivia and Valerie. Painting, reading, gardening, watching football, and traveling are some of her favorite hobbies.

Ursula is excited about serving as LLS's full-time administrator this year. She is looking forward to a productive year.

 

Office Manager

Office Manager Katie Dankert

Katie is a recent college graduate, earning her BA in English Literature at the Louisiana Scholars' College at Northwestern State University in 2008, and just received her MA in English from UL at Lafayette. The 2010-2011 school year will be her first year with Lafayette Lutheran School, but she has been an active member of First Lutheran Church since she was six years old. She is looking forward to an exciting year with everyone.

Pre-K & Kindergarten

Pre-K/K Hope McDonald

Miss Hope graduated from The University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in Public Relations in 2005 and is currently completing her Pre-K-3rd grade certification at UL. She has worked as a teacher assistant at Legacy Preparatory Academy in Salt Lake City, UT, and as a teacher assistant at Prairie Elementary in Lafayette. She enjoys spending her free time with her boyfriend, family, friends, and Cocker Spaniel named Lucy.

This will be Miss Hope's second year at LLS.

 

First Grade

First Crystal Parvino

Crystal graduated in 2007 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor's degree in General Studies and is currently working on her Pre-K-3 Grade Certification at UL. She has been tutoring for the past two years. She has two daughters, Ava and Sophie. In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her daughters.

 

Second & Third Grade

Second/Third Kendra McDonnold

Ms Kendra graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2008 in Early Childhood Education. This is her third year at LLS.

In addition to teaching, she leads a portion of the Children's Ministry at her church. She has two boys, one of which attends our school.

 

Language Arts: 4th-6th Grade

Fourth Jeanie Brister

Mrs. Jeannie graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She began her career with LLS in 2002. She has taught first through fourth grade classes in the nine years that she has been teaching at LLS.

She has been a member of First Lutheran Church since birth and is married to Craig Brister. She and Craig have two daughters, Katie and Jeanne who currently attend LLS. Jeannie has taught Sunday Church School at First Lutheran Church (1st-3rd grades) along with her mother and sister.

 

Math, Science, & Social Studies: 4th-6th

Fourth Hope Weeks

Hope Weeks holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and is a Louisiana certified teacher. Immediately after graduating, she taught sixth grade reading and social studies in a public school. She was the second grade teacher at LLS for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 school years. For the 2009-2010 school year, she taught first grade in a Vermilion Parish public school. Hope is also a member of First Lutheran Church. She is looking forward to returning to LLS.
