School Board

Included in the ministries of the First Lutheran Church is education. The school is wholly owned and operated by the church. Not only is the school supported by the church monetarily but also through Christian love and prayer.

The First Lutheran Church structure consists of the Congregation then the Church Council. The Church Council governs the Ministry of Christian Education which governs the LLS School Board. The Council is comprised of 9 Congregational members and the Pastor. Each of the Council members have ministry of emphasis; Christian Education, Social Ministry, Evangelism, Stewardship, Finance, Property, Youth Ministry, Small Groups and Worship, and Music. Council members serve a three year term. The Pastor serves as the President of the Council and a Vice President is elected from sitting members.

The School Board consists of 7 to 9 members of which two-thirds are church members. The School Board members serve a term of three years. Board members are involved in the overall operation of the school. The Chair reports directly to the Congregational Council. The Administration makes the daily operational decisions for the school. He also serves as an Ex-officio member of the Board regarding school issues and needs. Final decisions always rest with the Congregational Council. The board meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7pm. Parents and members of the congregation are welcome to attend the first half hour of the meeting. Please notify the Board Chair or the Administration if you would like to be placed on the agenda.
